Baltimore County, Maryland – Police body-worn camera footage released by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General shows an incident that left 56-year-old Samuel Brown dead.

The officer involved, Derek Hadel, has served with the department for nine years.

The video shows Brown being punched by Hadel, falling to the ground, and sustaining a broken jaw, broken nose, and brain damage. Brown died on Friday.

According to a police incident report, officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to a call about a person asleep behind the wheel at Security Boulevard and Whitehead Road. Brown exited his vehicle and became confrontational, ignoring commands to return.

Baltimore County police said Hadel is under investigation for use of force.
