Los Angeles, United States – Video filmed by X user @Ecnmic captured aerial footage from Westwood on March 2, 2026, during jubilant celebrations by Iranian-Americans following U.S. and Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other key regime figures on February 28, 2026.
The clip begins under a clear blue sky with thin clouds as a small propeller plane moves steadily from left to right at moderate altitude. Attached behind it on a long tether, a large white banner ripples in the wind.
In bold black letters, the banner reads “THANK YOU TRUMP FOR FREE IRAN,” accompanied by a small American flag graphic at the end.
As the handheld camera smoothly follows the aircraft, the banner stretches fully across the bright sky. Treetops and city rooftops appear at the bottom of the frame, placing the scene in the busy Westwood neighborhood.
The plane continues its gradual arc as the message remains sharply visible in the midday sun. The video lingers on the banner for several moments before the aircraft exits the frame.
Thousands rallied in Westwood and outside the Federal Building, waving pre-revolutionary Iranian flags, chanting for a “free Iran,” and crediting President Trump for the strikes that many described as a turning point toward regime change and democracy after decades of repression. Similar banners flew above crowds in New York and San Jose, reinforcing the “Thank You Trump” message.
