Petah Tikva, Israel – Today, February 28, 2026, with the beginning of a war attack on Iran, all children hospitalized at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel were transferred to a protected emergency area inside the hospital’s glass building, the center confirmed.
According to the Schneider Center spokesperson, the relocation of every hospitalized child was completed before 10:00 a.m. Medical teams coordinated closely to move each patient safely into the secure facility.
A photo released by the center shows a six-month-old baby shortly after being transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the protected area. Hospital officials described the move as essential given the current nationwide alert status.
The transfer followed instructions from the Health Ministry directing hospitals across Israel to elevate alert levels and relocate patients to protected zones, including underground facilities and specially designated safe rooms, due to escalating regional security tensions. Hospitals were also instructed to postpone non-urgent treatments and discharge patients who do not require continuous care.
Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, based in Petah Tikva and regarded as one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals, treats infants, children, and adolescents for a wide range of medical needs, including surgery, organ transplants, and cancer care.
Hospital staff reported that the operation was conducted smoothly and without incident, prioritizing the safety and comfort of young patients during this critical period. Health officials emphasized that maintaining essential medical services and patient safety remains a top priority during the heightened alert.
