Perth, Australia – Jamran, a male Sun Bear and former victim of the illegal wildlife trade, received a routine medical check-up at Perth Zoo. He was rescued by the conservation organization Free the Bears and now has a permanent home at the zoo.

The examination helps veterinarians monitor Jamran’s body condition, dental health, and joint mobility. During this visit, his teeth and claws received some needed attention.

Despite his difficult early life, Jamran is in good health for his age, thanks to ongoing care and regular monitoring by the zoo’s veterinary team.
