San Bernardino County, USA – Fire crews responded to a remote area of the San Bernardino National Forest below Upper Lytle Creek Ridge on February 21, 2026, at 3 p.m. to assist an adult female with a lower leg injury.
Paramedics reached the patient and provided immediate care. Due to the difficult terrain, officials decided to hoist her to safety using a helicopter.
With the help of @sbcsdaviation, the patient was secured in the Hot Seat device and successfully transferred to a waiting ground ambulance. She was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
The rescue involved two engine companies, one rescue company, one ambulance, one all-terrain rescue vehicle (ARV), a battalion chief, and a public information officer.
San Bernardino County Fire extended thanks to local off-roaders who assisted during the operation.
