Kansas City, Missouri, US – On Sunday afternoon, officers from the Kansas City Police Department responded to a distress call near Pittman Road and E 43rd about a person drowning in a local lake.

Officers Manley and Hawley arrived quickly and discovered two individuals in the water, with one struggling far from shore.

Without hesitation, the officers removed their gear and waded into the lake. They successfully rescued a young woman from the dangerous situation, bringing her to safety.

Officer Manley has served with the KCPD for 26 years, demonstrating decades of experience in emergency response. Officer Hawley, who joined the department four years ago, played a crucial role in the life-saving rescue alongside her partner.
