Cleveland, OH – On February 3, officers from the First District responded to a call about a female in crisis on the frozen surface of Lake Erie.
Recognizing the danger, officers quickly arrived and made safe contact with the woman. With care and compassion, they escorted her off the ice and back to shore.
Cleveland EMS met the officers at the scene and transported the woman to a local hospital for further evaluation and support.
This incident underscores that help is available for those experiencing a crisis. Call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, to reach trained counselors 24 hours a day. In an emergency, always call 911.
