Mayon, Philippines – Time-lapse footage captured at 7:34 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. on February 17, 2026, shows ongoing lava effusion and minor Strombolian activity at the summit crater of Mayon Volcano.
The effusive eruption has persisted for the 43rd consecutive day, generating glowing lava flows that descend the slopes and collapse-fed pyroclastic density currents, locally called “uson,” along with rockfalls.
Authorities maintain Alert Level 3 over the volcano. Entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone is strictly prohibited to ensure public safety.
