8-Time Felon Crashes Car and Passes Out During Fleeing Pursuit With Drugs In Lap

Meridian, United States – A dangerous high-speed pursuit ended tonight when Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office deputies captured an eight-time convicted felon after a reckless attempt to flee.

A deputy patrolling Meridian Road spotted a car stopped in a travel lane, blocking traffic. The driver was found dozing with drug paraphernalia in their lap.

The driver refused to cooperate, answer questions, or exit the vehicle. They rolled up the window, started the car, and fled at high speed in the wrong direction.

Deputies pursued the vehicle until it crashed into a guardrail. The suspect attempted to continue fleeing, prompting deputies to pin the car to prevent further danger. The driver initially refused to exit.

After negotiation with K9 Asher, the suspect finally surrendered. Records show the driver had eight prior felony convictions, including auto theft, possession of a stolen car, assault, and hit-and-run with injury, along with eight gross misdemeanors. Their license was suspended, and they were required to have an ignition interlock device.

A search warrant was executed to recover drug paraphernalia from the vehicle and obtain two vials of blood for lab testing.

The suspect was booked on charges of DUI, attempting to elude, driving while license suspended (third offense), and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.

Sheriff’s officials praised the proactive action, noting it removed a high-risk driver from the road and prevented potential harm to the public.
