Waco, Texas – Waco Police officers sprang into action when a city bus slid off an icy street, using dried tree branches to push it back onto the road.

Video shows officers carefully placing branches under the bus’s wheels to gain traction on the slick surface. Working together, they were able to slowly guide the bus back into position, preventing further damage or injuries.

The unusual winter rescue highlights the dangers of icy roads and the resourcefulness of law enforcement in keeping public transportation safe.

Police reminded residents to drive cautiously in icy conditions and praised the teamwork that ensured the bus was safely returned to the street.
