Viladecans, Catalonia, Spain – A video filmed by X user Víctor Férriz Pablo shows the intense impacts of Storm Nils in Viladecans on February 12, 2026.
The footage captures strong gusts whipping through streets, with fallen branches and scattered debris creating hazardous conditions on roads and sidewalks. Trees sway violently under the wind, and lighter objects are tossed through the air, emphasizing the storm’s force.
A stationary or handheld perspective shows the urban environment of Viladecans, including buildings, street furniture, and parked vehicles, under heavy rain and reduced visibility from airborne dust and debris.
The video was posted around 08:59 CET with the caption noting “notable impacts at this hour in Viladecans,” during the peak of the storm in the Barcelona metropolitan region.
Storm Nils brought extreme winds across Catalonia, with gusts reaching 92 kilometers per hour in nearby Terrassa and even higher in exposed areas, including 104 kilometers per hour in El Perelló and 140 kilometers per hour in mountainous regions.
The storm caused widespread disruption. At least nine people were hospitalized following a roof collapse at an industrial site, one in critical condition. Firefighters responded to over 290 calls, mainly for fallen trees, structural damage, and other wind-related hazards.
Authorities suspended schools, universities, sports activities, and non-urgent healthcare, issued travel warnings, and reported power outages, urging residents to remain indoors unless necessary.
