Storm Floods Sweep Through Cordoba, Thousands At Risk

Córdoba, Spain – Heavy rains from Storm Leonardo have caused severe flooding across Córdoba in southern Spain, prompting authorities to monitor low-lying areas and critical points throughout the city and surrounding province.

Aerial drone footage released by Spain’s National Police shows fast-flowing, muddy waters spreading across urban and residential areas. Bridges, roads, and flood-prone neighborhoods are under close surveillance to prevent accidents and damage.

Officials warned residents to avoid dangerous areas and follow guidance from emergency services, stressing that public safety is the top priority.

The National Police stated, “Police drones have been flying since dawn. One mission: your safety. We are monitoring the river rise in Córdoba at the most critical points. Do not take risks and always follow the instructions of civil protection authorities.”

Emergency teams continue to track the rising waters as the storm impacts the region, reminding residents that staying alert and indoors is essential to avoid serious risk.
