Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard resumed diving operations and search and rescue activities for the ill-fated vessel MV Trisha Kerstin 3 on February 7, 2026, following improved weather and sea conditions in the area.
After operations restarted, PCG Technical Divers led by Commander Cheska Jamorol carried out an external scan of the submerged vessel to examine its condition and determine possible entry points.
The inspection served as a vital safety step before any penetration dives could be attempted.
The Philippine Coast Guard stated that all procedures are being conducted with extreme care and in strict accordance with established safety protocols.
As of today, the number of survivors remains at 316, while fatalities have reached 45.
