New York Harbor, New York, USA – On January 31, 2026, the Coast Guard Cutter Hawser conducted icebreaking operations in New York Harbor to support safe navigation during harsh winter conditions.

The 65-foot harbor tug, homeported in Bayonne, New Jersey, got underway at sunrise to clear ice from the harbor and surrounding waterways. Crews worked to maintain safe, navigable routes across the Sector New York area of responsibility.
