Massive Farmers’ Tractor Protest Brings Granada Streets To Standstill

Granada, Spain – On January 29, 2026, a large-scale farmers’ protest halted traffic on Calle Recogidas in Granada’s historic center. The tractorada brought dozens of tractors into the city, with participants demanding fair prices for produce, reduced bureaucracy, opposition to EU agricultural policies, and lower costs for fuel and fertilizers.

Video filmed by OEFMGranada captures the convoy of green John Deere, red Massey Ferguson, and other tractors moving slowly through multiple lanes. Many vehicles flew Spanish and Andalusian flags, as well as banners supporting farmers’ demands. Drivers waved to onlookers, some shouting or giving thumbs-up in solidarity.

Crowds lined the streets, clapping, cheering, and recording the event. Passengers on public buses and other vehicles were delayed, and surrounding roads were blocked, creating widespread disruption. The atmosphere remained celebratory, with participants and supporters calling the demonstration “just and necessary.”

This protest is part of a wave of intensified tractoradas across Spain in late January 2026, particularly in Andalusia, as unions like ASAJA, COAG, and UPA mobilize against low farm-gate prices, import competition, and economic pressures. Similar events in Madrid, Valencia, and other provinces have drawn public sympathy and applause.
