USA Unleashes Autonomous Vessel In High-Stakes Logistics Test

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California – U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Luna Eben and Sgt. Carlos Perez-armenta operated an Autonomous Low-Profile Vessel during testing on January 22, 2026.

Both serve as logistics specialists with 1st Distribution Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group.

The test involved the Autonomous Low-Profile Vessel, known as the ALPV, which the Marine Corps is experimenting with as part of its logistics capabilities.

The ALPV is designed to deliver supplies and equipment autonomously in a timely manner across littoral environments.
