Louisville, KY – A lighthearted but painful moment was caught on video after a police officer wiped out while snow-tubing on a hill in Louisville.
Footage shared by the Louisville Metro Police Department shows two officers sending a colleague down a snow-covered slope inside an inflatable tube. As the tube speeds downhill, it strikes a bump, causing the officer to be thrown out and tumble onto the snow.
The incident happened as many residents were enjoying sledding and tubing during winter conditions across the city. Most outings passed without problems, but not everyone avoided injury.
Louisville Parks and Recreation confirmed that “two people were hospitalized due to sledding injuries” on Sunday. Officials used the opportunity to remind the public to follow safety guidance while using sledding hills.
The department urged residents to remain “clear of trees, streets, and creeks” and advised sledders to limit activity to one of the city’s five designated locations, including the hill at Joe Creason Park.
