Belmont County, United States – Two separate crashes occurred on I‑70 in Belmont County this week amid dangerously icy winter conditions.

The first incident involved a commercial vehicle, whose driver was uninjured despite the hazardous slick roads. In a second crash, an SUV carrying four occupants slid off the roadway, but all sustained only minor injuries.

Dashboard camera footage shows how quickly winter weather can make roads treacherous, even when they appear clear. Bridges, overpasses, and elevated surfaces are particularly dangerous due to freezing from above and below.

Officials urged drivers to reduce speed, increase following distance, and remain alert as winter weather continues to affect Ohio roadways.
