Deadly World War II Bomb Neutralized In Saint Petersburg Construction Site

Saint Petersburg, Russia – Specialists from the Nevsky Rescue Center of the Russian Emergency Services successfully neutralized a World War II-era FAB-250 aerial bomb discovered during excavation work at a construction site on Marshal Blucher Avenue.

The explosive was carefully extracted from the ground by the pyrotechnic team and transported to a specialized disposal range. There, it was safely destroyed, creating a controlled detonation that officials described as an “echo of war.”

The operation highlights the ongoing risks posed by leftover munitions from past conflicts and the crucial role of trained pyrotechnic teams in protecting civilians.
