10-Year-Old Saved From Dangerous Snow Trap In Kamchatka

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia – Rescuers from the Kamchatka Emergency Services successfully saved a 10-year-old boy trapped in a snowdrift while playing with friends. The snow formation, known locally as a “lens,” had formed due to a sudden temperature drop, creating a dangerous trap the child could not escape from on his own.

The search-and-rescue team quickly arrived at the scene and freed the boy from the snow. Fortunately, he did not require medical attention following the rescue.

Valeriy Koklin, a member of the Kamchatka rescue team, assisted in the operation, ensuring the child’s safety and swift extraction from the hazard.

The incident highlights the risks children can face when playing outdoors in severe winter conditions and the vital role of trained rescue teams in responding to emergencies.
