Arezzo, Italy – Firefighters responded Thursday, January 15, 2026, after a two-story building partially collapsed in the Il Matto area of Arezzo following an explosion. The blast also sparked a fire, which crews quickly extinguished.
Firefighters from the Arezzo command and the Cortona detachment arrived around 17:30 to secure the scene and carry out rescue operations. Three people were injured and taken into the care of 118 emergency medical teams.
Teams continued searching through the rubble to ensure no one else was trapped or missing. Authorities are investigating to determine what caused the explosion.
