Police Officer Pushes Burning Vehicle Away From Gas Pumps In Minnesota

Humboldt, Minnesota – On December 31, emergency services responded to a fire involving an electric vehicle parked next to gas pumps while the driver was inside a nearby store.

Dash cam footage shows a Brooklyn Center police officer using his squad car to push the burning vehicle away from the fuel pumps, preventing a potential disaster.

Firefighters then tackled the blaze, using approximately 30,000 gallons of water to fully extinguish the fire. The operation lasted more than two hours.

Officials noted that fires involving electric vehicles take longer to put out because the batteries require additional time to cool down safely.

The quick action of the police officer and emergency teams averted a major incident at the gas station.
