Woman Rescued From Burning Car By Police And Firefighters In Walla Walla

Walla Walla, WA – On New Year’s Eve, off-duty and on-duty police officers, together with local fire personnel, worked heroically to save a woman trapped in a burning vehicle.

The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. on eastbound Highway 12 near Rees Avenue. Off-duty Detective Daschofsky and Deputy Daschofsky from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive, immediately beginning life-saving efforts before other emergency responders reached the scene.

The 32-year-old driver was trapped inside the car as flames spread. Additional officers joined the effort to pull her to safety, suppress the fire, and ensure no one else was inside the vehicle.

Shortly after the rescue, the Walla Walla Fire Department arrived and fully extinguished the blaze. The woman received advanced medical care at the scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
