Caribbean Sea – A U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II carried out flight operations aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) while the vessel was underway on Nov. 26, 2025.

The aircraft is assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), part of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).

The operations took place during a deployment in the Caribbean Sea and included vertical landing maneuvers on the ship’s flight deck.

U.S. military forces are deployed in the region in support of the U.S. Southern Command mission, Department of War-directed operations, and the president’s priorities to disrupt illicit drug trafficking and protect the homeland.
