New York City, USA – On December 24, Cardinal Dolan delivered a final “Midnight Mass” blessing to officers assigned to NYPD Emergency Service Unit Truck 1 as they prepared to remain on duty through the night.
The moment was shared by the NYPD, highlighting officers who would be working while others attended Christmas Mass. The blessing was given directly to the ESU Truck 1 team before their shift.
According to the department, police officers across the city were scheduled to remain on duty throughout the holiday. Many would spend the night away from family and friends.
The NYPD noted that these officers continued working so the rest of the city could remain safe during Christmas Eve.
