Alicante, Spain – Spain’s National Police arrested a man in Alicante for storing and sharing child pornography, an operation shown in video footage and identified as the starting point of an international investigation.
Police said the suspect used cloud storage services and messaging applications to keep and exchange a large quantity of child pornography. Officers searched his home and seized various electronic devices.
Analysis of the material found on those devices revealed a large volume of files, many described by investigators as extremely severe. The examination also showed the suspect was communicating with individuals outside Spain and exchanging abusive material through multiple messaging chats.
One of those contacts was located in Argentina. Police said this individual sent images involving a minor and claimed direct access to the child. Intelligence analysis confirmed the files were newly created, triggering urgent international cooperation to stop further abuse.
With the support of AMERIPOL, Argentine authorities launched a parallel investigation. That operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect in the town of Claypole, in the province of Buenos Aires. Investigators in Argentina consider him to be one of the leaders of an international criminal organization dedicated to the production, commercialization, and distribution of child pornography.
Spanish police stated that while these arrests dismantled a key part of the criminal structure, the international investigation remains ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the network operating in Europe and South America.
