Caribbean Sea – On November 4, 2025, a U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), conducted night flight operations aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7).

The aircraft operated while the ship was underway in the Caribbean Sea, demonstrating the unit’s capability to conduct complex missions during nighttime conditions.

U.S. military forces in the region are deployed under the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in support of Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR. These Department of War-directed operations align with presidential priorities to disrupt illicit drug trafficking and protect the homeland.
