Woman Arrested After Leading Thurston County Deputies In Off-Road Pursuit

Thurston County, Washington – A woman was arrested today after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit that ended in an off-road tactical stop.

Authorities were first alerted when Lewis County reported a stolen vehicle. Later, a Thurston County resident called 911 to report the same truck on their property, driven by a person who appeared “very high” on narcotics. The driver allegedly ordered the homeowner to hang up the call before ramming their car and house and fleeing the scene.

Deputies located the stolen truck traveling at high speed in Grand Mound, initiating a pursuit into Lewis County with support from Centralia Police Department and Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver continued onto Port of Centralia property, navigating dirt roads before stopping at a gate. After ignoring commands to exit, she pushed through the gate and crossed an open muddy field. Deputies performed a tactical vehicle intervention, successfully pinning the stolen truck and taking her into custody. Reports noted she paused only to eat a quick protein bar before surrendering.

A certified Drug Recognition Expert responded, helping establish probable cause for a drug-related DUI. The woman is believed to have committed multiple prior eluding offenses and had an active felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle from a previous case.

She was booked into Lewis County Jail for DUI, possession of a stolen vehicle, and multiple counts of attempting to elude. Thurston County authorities will refer additional charges for the crimes committed in their jurisdiction. Both patrol vehicles sustained minor cosmetic damage during the pursuit.
