Private Jet Crashes Near Toluca Airport, Killing Six As Smoke Towers Over City

Toluca, Mexico – A video posted by X user Benjamin shows the immediate aftermath of a fatal private jet crash in Toluca on December 15, 2025.

Filmed from a slightly elevated position behind yellow flowering bushes, the footage looks across a dry soccer field marked with white lines and goalposts. In the distance, large industrial buildings with curved white roofs are visible.

Thick plumes of dark black smoke rise rapidly into a partly cloudy sky from behind one of the buildings, indicating an intense fire shortly after impact. The camera slowly pans upward and to the right to follow the expanding smoke column.

Two motorcycles, one carrying a single rider and another with a passenger, move across the field from left to right toward the smoke, appearing to observe or approach the scene. No flames, wreckage, or emergency responders are visible in this clip.

The post caption states: “Plane crashes in Toluca.” It adds that the pilot of the damaged jet attempted to land in a soccer field to save lives before the impact.

According to the caption, the crash occurred at 12:31 on December 15 in the San Pedro Totoltepec neighborhood, just meters from Toluca Airport. Six people were killed, as confirmed by the State of Mexico government.

The aircraft is identified as a Cessna Citation III XA-PRO operated by Jet Pro, which departed from Acapulco bound for Toluca. The pilot reportedly informed air traffic control that the aircraft was losing altitude before reaching the runway.

State and federal authorities, including aviation and civil protection agencies, are investigating the cause of the crash. Emergency units and Metepec firefighters responded to extinguish the fire, and residents were urged to avoid the area.
