The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Flood Warning for the area, meaning flood conditions are imminent. Residents in low-lying or flood-prone areas are being advised to take immediate action to protect themselves and their property.
Moderate to heavy rain is expected tonight and into tomorrow, which will further raise the Puyallup River and increase flood risks on Wednesday. Puyallup authorities are checking on residents near the river and recommending evacuations where necessary.
Motorists are urged to be cautious on roads near the Puyallup River and other flood-prone areas. Officials stress that the Riverwalk Trail remains closed until further notice, and Public Works crews will continue to monitor road and river conditions overnight and tomorrow.
