United Kingdom – A tense bodycam video that looks straight out of a found-footage horror film shows a Met Police officer encountering a terrifying jump scare while searching a dark basement.

The footage, released by the Met Police and set to the Stranger Things theme, captures the officer sweeping through the property after officers saw a suspect enter the address. Inside, they uncovered a basement and began a detailed search.

The video shows the officer moving through the basement with a torch before stepping into a bathroom where the shower curtain is fully drawn around the bathtub.

In a moment worthy of a horror movie, the officer pulls back the curtain and lets out a bloodcurdling scream as a figure is revealed standing motionless in the bath.

The figure turns out to be a convicted drug dealer breaching a court order, not the supernatural presence it first appeared to be. The officer shouts: “Jesus Christ! Right, come out here, you’re under arrest.”

After the suspect is brought outside and their rights are read, the officer admits the jump scare “gave me the fright of my life, I can’t lie.”
