Man Rescued From Coconut Tree As Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 Saves Flood Victim

Aukana, Sri Lanka – The Sri Lanka Air Force reports that a resident stranded in severe flooding was rescued after becoming trapped atop a coconut tree.

According to Sri Lanka Air Force officials, a Bell 212 helicopter from No. 7 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was deployed to the flooded area in Aukana.

The aircraft reached the location where rising waters had forced the resident to climb a coconut tree to escape the flood surge.

SLAF personnel carried out the rescue operation from the helicopter, saving the individual from the dangerous situation.
