Father And Son Saved After Clinging To Overturned Boat For 2 Hours

Chinook, Wash. – A U.S. Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria, Ore., rescued a father and son after they spent two hours clinging on the top of their overturned vessel near Chinook, Wash., on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025.

Air Station Astoria located the two survivors and took them aboard after a family member alerted the Coast Guard when they did not return home as expected.

The helicopter crew then transported the father and son to Emergency Medical Services.
