Navegantes, Brazil – A video recorded by X user fernandopamplona captures a dramatic moment as a LATAM Airlines aircraft performs a crosswind landing at Navegantes Airport on November 6, 2025.
The plane approaches the runway at a sharp angle due to strong crosswinds, using a maneuver known as “crabbing,” where the nose is pointed into the wind to keep the aircraft aligned with its flight path.
Seconds before touchdown, the pilot skillfully applies opposite rudder to straighten the jet with the runway centerline, ensuring a safe and controlled landing despite the challenging gusts.
The landing is executed with precision, highlighting the pilot’s expertise and calm control under pressure.
Crosswind landings like this are common in regions such as Santa Catarina, where coastal winds and shifting weather conditions frequently test pilots’ abilities.
