Blinding Snowstorm Slams Thompson

Thompson, Ohio – Video filmed by Michael Connolly Thomas shows heavy lake-effect snow sweeping through the area, with deep accumulation blanketing bushes and an American flag waving in the wind around 1:48 p.m. on November 10, 2025.

The snowfall is part of a powerful winter system hitting Northeast Ohio, where some locations have been buried under nearly 5 feet of snow. Thompson reported 14.8 inches by 8:58 a.m. on the same day.

Lake-effect snow forms when cold air moves across the warmer waters of Lake Erie, creating intense snow bands that can produce rapid buildup and dangerous travel conditions.

The video coincides with severe weather warnings across the Great Lakes region, where whiteouts and blizzard-like conditions have been reported.

The image of the American flag standing firm amid the storm serves as a striking symbol of resilience during extreme weather.
