Lehigh Acres, FL – A 23-year-old woman was arrested Sunday after a terrifying road rage episode in which she pointed a firearm at her neighbors.

The incident occurred at the intersection of 19th St. SW and Ruth Ave. S., when Esmerelda Cruz reportedly drove toward her neighbor, then exited her vehicle and aimed a gun at the entire family and their dog.

Footage from a camera mounted to Cruz’s vehicle captured the alarming confrontation, clearly showing the threat to the family.

Cruz was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Authorities later recovered the firearm from her home.

“The grid is busier than ever. Road rage has no place in Lee County, and won’t be tolerated,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
