Brush Fire Knocked Down After Fierce Air And Ground Response

Thousand Oaks, California – VCFD, CAL FIRE and VCSO responded today to a brush fire near Janss Fire Road.

Firefighters stopped forward progress at about 2.3 acres after the blaze burned light to medium brush with a slow rate of spread in difficult-to-access terrain.

More than 100 personnel launched an aggressive, coordinated attack from the air and ground. Crews used hand teams, Type 3 brush engines, a water tender and VCFD Firehawk helicopters.

No structures or infrastructure were threatened or damaged, and there were no reported firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
