Clinton, Missouri – On the morning of October 19, 2025, Clinton Police Department officers responded to a local gas station after a woman called for help, reporting she had been assaulted and prevented from leaving.

Officers approached a second individual involved in the incident, who refused to exit their vehicle despite repeated commands.

The situation escalated when the suspect put the vehicle in reverse, striking a Clinton Police Officer and sending them flying over the cruiser’s hood.

A pursuit followed, ending when the suspect crashed into Truman Lake. The individual fled on foot into the water but was quickly detained by officers.

Video footage of parts of the incident has been released by the department. The investigation into the assault and related events is ongoing.
