Almorox, Spain – Nighttime footage from October 9, 2025, captures a rapidly advancing wildfire front near Almorox burning uphill through dense forest.
Flames reached 10 to 20 meters high along a roughly 200-meter perimeter as thick black smoke plumes glowed red from the inferno below.
The blaze scorched 500 hectares and prompted evacuations in three nearby towns.
An INFOCAM update reported that IFAlmorox in Toledo declared an operational situation level 1 during the night because of potential impact to non-forestry property. The level 1 response mobilized seven aerial units (from the first hours), 19 ground units and 64 personnel.
Unions criticized cuts to resources for contributing to the near loss of control, and Madrid firefighters aided containment efforts.
