Dramatic Air Rescue After Plane Crashes In Remote Everglades

Everglades, Florida – On Tuesday, October 7, at 2:44 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams responded to reports of a plane crash in a remote section of the Everglades, about 20 miles west of Miami Executive Airport.

Air Rescue units scoured the vast wetlands and located two people who had managed to exit the downed aircraft but were stranded and in need of help.

Because of the difficult terrain and isolation of the crash site, rescue crews carried out a hoist operation to lift both individuals to safety.

Authorities confirmed there were no injuries. The rescued passengers were flown back to Miami Executive Airport following the operation.
