Seattle, WA – New police dashcam video shows a driver in a stolen vehicle jump a partially opened University Bridge while fleeing officers on Sept. 17.
Officers first spotted a vehicle with a licence plate that returned as stolen and followed it without initiating a pursuit, but they lost sight of the car.
The vehicle was later found stuck in traffic at the University Bridge. When officers attempted to stop it, the driver drove off and pushed through the bridge crossing arms while the span was still partially raised.
The car jumped from one section of the bridge to the other before coming to rest at NE 42nd Street and Pasadena Place NE. It was still running when located but is considered totaled by police.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues, according to authorities.
