Massive Meteor Lights Up Skies Over Alicante And Spain

Alicante/València, Spain – A spectacular meteor streaked across the skies over Alicante and València today at 3:09:22 UTC (5:09 CEST), capturing the attention of observers throughout the region.

The meteor, about the size of a tennis ball, entered Earth’s atmosphere at an astonishing 105,000 km/h. As it burned up, it produced brilliant blue flashes caused by magnesium and iron in its silicate composition.

The fireball was visible from several locations, including Daya Vieja, Benamaurel in Granada, and Barx-La Visteta in València. In some areas, it shone even through partial cloud cover, showcasing its extraordinary brightness and size.

This event exemplifies the impressive displays produced by meteoroids, as they progressively break apart while entering the atmosphere, creating vivid flashes visible across wide areas.
