Mothers Hand Over Sons After $50,000 Rampage At Florida Elementary School

Deltona, Florida – Two boys, aged 12 and 13, were turned in by their mothers on Monday after allegedly causing $50,000 worth of damage to Friendship Elementary School’s media center, authorities reported.

The boys reportedly broke into the school during the daytime on Saturday and returned at night to cause further destruction, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Deltona is located about 30 miles north of Orlando.

Video shared by the sheriff’s office showed the extent of the chaos: shattered glass doors, overturned tables and shelves, shredded books, and graffiti covering walls.

Both boys have confessed to the acts, the sheriff’s office confirmed in a social media post. Investigators are handling the case as a serious example of juvenile vandalism and school property damage.
