Rochester, England – A large fire broke out at a recycling centre in Clipper Close, Rochester, sending thick smoke across the skies of Kent.

Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed the incident on the social media platform X, stating: “Crews are currently responding to a fire at a recycling site in Clipper Close, Rochester.”

Authorities have warned residents and those travelling near the area to keep windows and doors shut due to the heavy smoke drifting from the site.

Video of the fire was filmed by X user Luke and shows enormous plumes of smoke rising into the air. Some residents in Essex have posted images of the smoke visible from across the Thames.
