Castellon, Spain – A woman was injured around 11:00 a.m. on Friday while in a forested area of the Tinença de Benifassà, in the municipality of la Pobla de Benifassà (Castellon).
Firefighters from the Diputación de Castellón were alerted and deployed teams from the Baix Maestrat and Els Ports stations, along with the Mountain Rescue Unit (URM) and a rescue helicopter from GVA112.
The woman sustained a shoulder injury in a difficult-to-access area, requiring immediate emergency response.
Teams worked together to ensure the woman’s safety and provide her with prompt medical care. The evacuation was carried out successfully via aerial extraction by the GVA112 rescue helicopter.
The Tinença de Benifassà’s mountainous terrain presents unique challenges for operations of this kind. Authorities emphasized the importance of preparation and caution when engaging in activities in forested or mountainous areas.
