Coast Guard And National Park Service Rescue Mariner Near Shackleford Banks

Fort Macon, North Carolina – On June 30, 2025, a Coast Guard Station Fort Macon boat crew rescued a mariner whose vessel ran aground near Shackleford Banks.

The Station Fort Macon team launched their 29-foot Response Boat-small boat crew to reach the stranded mariner.

They were assisted by a National Park Service vessel in carrying out the shoreside rescue.

The combined efforts ensured the mariner was safely brought to shore without injury.
