Network Rail Hired a Hawk to Fight Pigeons at London Euston Station

London, England – Network Rail has hired a hawk to tackle the pigeon problem at London Euston Station. The hawk, named Oscar, is now patrolling the station to scare off pigeons that have long been a nuisance for passengers and staff.

Oscar’s job is simple but effective. As a natural predator, his presence alone keeps the pigeons away. A trained falconer guides him during patrols, which take place during off-peak hours to avoid disrupting commuters.

Network Rail sees this as a green and humane solution. “We’re always looking for innovative ways to solve problems, and this seemed like a natural fit,” said a spokesperson. “The hawk is a humane and effective way to control the pigeon population.”

Passengers have already noticed a difference. “The station feels cleaner and less chaotic without all the pigeons,” said one regular commuter. “It’s a smart way to handle the issue.”

This approach to pest control is gaining traction in cities worldwide. If successful, it could be used at other stations across the country.

For now, Oscar is proving that sometimes nature is the best solution to urban challenges.
