Vandenberg Space Force Base, California – A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lit up the night sky on June 16, 2025, launching 26 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The mission, dubbed Starlink Group 15-9, lifted off at 11:36 p.m. EDT, captivating onlookers with its fiery ascent.
The rocket’s first stage, known as B1093, performed flawlessly. After deploying the satellites, it landed precisely on the droneship “Of Course I Still Love You” stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This was B1093’s third flight, having previously launched Starlink missions in May.
The launch strengthens SpaceX’s growing Starlink constellation, aimed at providing global broadband internet. It follows a similar mission from Florida on June 13, which completed the first generation of SpaceX’s direct-to-cell satellite network.
