United States Coast Guard – A coast guard boat entered the sea just as a massive wave struck it hard, sending water flying in every direction. The intense moment was captured on video, showing the extreme conditions surfmen face.

Surfmen are a highly specialized and elite group within the United States Coast Guard trusted to operate lifeboats in the most challenging and dangerous rescue situations. Of approximately 40,000 Coast Guard personnel, only 130 are active duty surfmen.
