Maumelle, Arkansas – A firefighter cut through the windshield of a vehicle lying on its side to rescue an occupant after a crash on Wednesday.
Footage posted by the Maumelle Fire Department shows a firefighter in a tan coat and yellow helmet using a tool on the vehicle. Shattered glass covers the side window, while the white vehicle rests on its side in a parking lot.
The department said crews went in through the windshield to reach the occupant and get them out of the vehicle.
Firefighters were already responding to a crash into a building when a second crash nearby rolled the vehicle onto its side. The department said no driver was hurt, and no customer or employee inside the business was injured.
The crashes happened in the 20600 block of Highway 365. Maumelle police said the first crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. at Razorback Pizza, where a driver struck another vehicle before crossing the lot and hitting the restaurant.
